Introduction to wireless communications. Wireless channel models: path loss, shadowing, and multi-path fading. Digital modulation techniques and their performance over fading channels. Fading mitigation techniques: diversity techniques and multicarrier modulation, bandwidth-efficient modulation techniques, multiple access, and interference management. Channel coding for wireless communication. adaptive transmission, MIMO transmission, relay transmission, and cognitive transmission.
